(PINKYVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA)  Minor league pitcher Thahn Dat Van of the Pinkyville Pounce will be sidelined until June 2007 with a strained wrist obtained from extensively playing the video game Guitar Hero II.

The minor leagues naturally start in the spring, but the severity of Van’s injury may cause him to miss the opener for his team, as well as 20 more games.

“I like to play Guitar Hero.  I want to be a rock star!” says the enthusiastic pitcher.

Recently it was reported that Detroit Tigers pitcher Joel Zumaya was bothered by a sore wrist obtained from playing Guitar Hero during the 2006 American League Championship Series.
