Infamous Hip-Hop Star Gets Prison Sentence

(CERRITOS, CALIFORNIA) Andrew Ong, known to the hip-hop community as A.O., received 10 months in prison yesterday, for the theft of a police car for a music production.

A.O. was filming for the music video to his song “5-0 Phunk”.  The rap star wished to have a police vehicle in his movie, where he would attempt to “Ghost Ride” it, while dressed up as a cop.  However, instead of asking the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for a “whip”, he went ahead and made an attempt to steal one.

“I’m sorry, I guess…” says the pessimistic musician.

The hip-hop artist went to the L.A. County police department located near Santa Monica Boulevard and Purdue Avenue in West Los Angeles, alone after midnight, and tried to hot wire an isolated police vehicle.  He was caught by an off duty police officer, who had to go to the office to pick up some personal belongings.

At the court the judge seemed a little understanding of the fact that Ong is susceptible to the peer pressure of the media, and let him go off with only a 10 month ban.  Normally someone could get up to five years for stealing county property. But in this rare case, the 28 year old musician was reduced sentence.

[EDITOR’S NOTE: Unbelievable! Next thing you’ll tell me is that he and ‘Ocho Cinco’ Chad Johnson will collaborate on the remixed version of the aforementioned song. And, that they’ll call it “Cinco-Cero Phunk”, or “Phunk Cincuenta” if you prefer more grammatically accurate Spanbonics.]
